‘Jeopardy,’ ‘Wheel’ Move To KDVR In Denver

The switch from KMGH to Fox’s KDVR takes effect on Sept. 8.

Fox-owned KDVR Denver (DMA 17) is the market’s home of syndicated powerhouses Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

The shows have been seen on E.W. Scripps’ ABC affiliate KMGH, which beginning next month is replacing the two with a local newscast and a half-hour newsmagazine The List, a national program with local inserts.

“Fox31 Denver is very excited to be the new home of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. There is a reason these game shows have been around for 30-plus years,” said KDVR President-GM Peter Maroney. “They are high-quality programs with an extremely loyal fan base that will now have more access and exposure to our growing local news audiences.”

The shows premiere on KDVR on Monday, Sept. 8 — Jeopardy at 6 p.m. and Wheel of Fortune at 6:30.

Both shows are produced by Sony Pictures Television. The executive producer is Harry Friedman. The shows are distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Studios International, both units of CBS Corp.

You know the demos of FOX are changing when a station looks forward to Wheel and Jeopardy as a FOX lead-in….not that lead ins mean much anymore.

KDVR is not Fox-owned. Tribune owns that station.
