Kate Shepherd New Shine America Development VP

Veteran TV Executive and showrunner Kate Shepherd has been named vice president, development, at Shine America.

Shepherd, who most recently was the executive producer and showrunner on the CW/BBC Worldwide Productions series Breaking Pointe, will oversee development of unscripted programming from within the global Shine Group and also work with third-party producers.

Shepherd will report to Chris Culvenor, Shine America’s SVP of unscripted development.

In addition to selling and showrunning Breaking Pointe, Shepherd also served as a consulting producer on BBCWW’s Lovetown for OWN.

From June 2008 to September 2011, Shepherd was SVP of TV development for Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and XIX Entertainment in both London and Los Angeles.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Shepherd worked for Endemol in London, serving in a variety of roles including VP of development.

She holds a BS (honors) in psychology from the U.K.’s University of Leicester.
