KCRA-KQCA Sets Sandy Disaster Relief Drive

The Hearst Sacramento, Calif., NBC-MNT duopoly is raising funds for the American Red Cross today.

Hearst-owned KCRA (NBC) and KQCA (MNT), along with the Sacramento Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a disaster relief drive today, Friday, Nov. 2.  Funds raised will benefit those in areas impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families affected by Hurricane Sandy,” said KCRA-KQCA President-GM Elliott Troshinsky. “It is important that we do all we can to provide help to the communities devastated by this storm.”

KCRA will do live cut-ins throughout the day and will have coverage during newscasts asking for donations from 6 a.m. through 10 p.m. People may donate by calling 1-800-513-3333 or by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
