KTAL Names Chris Huston News Director

His responsibilities at the Nexstar Shreveport, La., NBC affiliate will also include the station's e-media content engine.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that its NBC affiliate KTAL Shreveport, La. (DMA 82), has appointed Chris Huston news director. He will also manage the day-to-day content engine for the co-owned ArkLaTexHomepage.com. His first day will be Feb. 7.

Huston succeeds Willy Walker who left KTAL earlier this month after just over two years in the post.

Huston’s news experience ranges from reporter to news director. His first job was with KID in Idaho Falls (now KIDK). Next, he spent 10 years on the air as a reporter and anchor at KDBC El Paso, Texas; KGUN Tucson, Ariz.; KFOR Oklahoma City; KDFW Dallas; and KOB Albuquerque, N.M.

In 1989, Chris moved into newsroom management and has run TV newsrooms in Idaho, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas.
