KTVK Phoenix To Launch 10 P.M. News

The 30-minute newscast will be anchored by Carey Pena and Fields Moseley and will debut on Aug. 22.

Belo independent KTVK Phoenix (DMA 12) expands its live news coverage to nine hours a day with the premiere of 3TV News @ 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22.

The 30-minute newscast will be anchored by KTVK reporter Carey Pena and Fields Moseley, a veteran reporter/anchor who joins the station from KUTV Salt Lake City.

KTVK News Director Brad Remington says 3TV News @ 10 p.m. will feature more interaction with digital media including Facebook, Twitter and through www.azfamily.com.  Pena, who has more than 10,000 followers on Twitter, will use her social networks to get feedback on stories, mine for story ideas and take the general pulse of viewers. Fields is already engaging with local viewers through his Facebook page and twitter account.

3TV News @ 10 p.m. will also focus on breaking news, weather from meteorologist Royal Norman and sports from Tim Ring.

The newscast will immediately follow 3TV News at 9 p.m. anchored by Beverly Kidd.

Is another .5 HH Rating at 10p really going to matter.I Think not! Too much news in this market. Give it up KTVK!

Maybe they think that once people start to tire of KSAZ’s technical gaffes, that they will gain viewers.
