Larry Silbermann Named GM Of WTOC

Raycom Media’s CBS affiliate WTOC Savannah, Ga. (DMA 91), on Wednesday named Larry Silbermann vice president and general manager. Silbermann will be replacing Scott Dempsey, who recently accepted the VP-GM position at Raycom’s WBTV Charlotte, N.C.

Silbermann was the news director at WTOC for 10 years leading the station to news and ratings dominance during his tenure. Silbermann was named regional news director for Raycom Media six years ago, working with WBTV Charlotte, WIS Columbia, WCSC Charleston and others throughout the Carolinas and Georgia.

Silbermann’s career started in 1988 at WKRC Cincinnati, holding various news and management positions at WHAS Louisville, Ky.; WDSU New Orleans; and KGW Portland, Ore.

Silbermann holds a degree in broadcasting from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Conservatory of Music.
