Madonna Badger to Keynote AWM Luncheon

Madonna Badger, Chief Creative Officer at Badger & Winters, will serve as keynote at the Alliance for Women in Media’s Women Who Lead Luncheon on Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. on the Park at Time Warner Center in New York City.

“Madonna’s agency is at the forefront of ending the objectification of women through the #WomenNotObjects campaign, a cause AWM firmly supports,” said Kristen Welch, AWM chair and SVP of global content operations at Discovery Communications. “Madonna’s address will surely inspire, encourage and inform us about the positive impact and responsibility we each have as women in all forms of media.”

“I am honored to speak at the AWM Women Who Lead Luncheon,” Badger said. “These are the opportunities for women to have conversations about being fearless and confident. Creating the #WomenNotObjects campaign was a way to honor my family and realize the purpose and influence my company could have.”

Badger founded the agency at age 29. In 2009, she partnered with Jim Winters, who led marketing at Vogue and is an expert on women’s brands. Prior to founding Badger & Winters, Madonna worked at Calvin Klein where she created campaigns for Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss and launched CK One.

Badger, named one of Advertising Age’s 2016 Women to Watch, has been featured in Vogue and WWD and was named one of Daily Variety’s The Gotham 50, Crain’s Forty under Forty and Glamour’s Women Who Took Big Risks – And Reaped Big Rewards. Badger and her agency recently announced that they would no longer create imagery that objectifies women through the #WomenNotObjects campaign.

Tickets are available for AWM members at $149 and for non-members at $199. A special student rate of $79 is available for undergraduate students with proof of enrollment. Students may also apply to be sponsored to attend through donations from attendees.
