Mary Carole McDonnell Leaving Raycom For Bellum

Veteran television executive and Emmy-winning producer Mary Carole McDonnell today announced that she plans to exit her position as executive vice president, programming for Raycom Media, effective September 2014, to focus exclusively on Bellum Entertainment, the television production company that she launched in 2005.

“With Bellum’s continued success and expansion, I’ve decided to devote my efforts exclusively to our projects. My hope is to continue working with Raycom and other station groups on current and future shows that we produce and I thank them for 15 great years,” said McDonnell.

Paul McTear, Raycom president-CEO, added: “Mary Carole is a tremendous executive who will be missed at Raycom. We hope to continue to work with her on projects in the years to come and we wish her all the best at Bellum.”

Bellum Entertainment is an independently owned production and distribution company that specializes in development, production and distribution of TV projects for broadcast, cable, digital and ancillary markets. With a focus on syndication series that appeal to station groups nationwide, Bellum is currently in production on Flip My Food and Fix It, Finish It, both of which will premiere on Sept. 8. Additional projects include Unsealed, State to State, Origins and the forthcoming What Went Down.

During her tenure at Raycom Media, McDonnell has overseen all programming for the Raycom group, including acquisitions, scheduling and budgeting. McDonnell previously was VP of programming and marketing at Argyle Television II and previously Argyle Television I. She began her career working for stations in various markets throughout the country including in Texas, Missouri, Rhode Island and Colorado.
