NAB Expands Offerings For New York Show

This year's NAB Show New York will feature more than 300 exhibitors and a number of enhanced features.

The National Association of Broadcasters on Tuesday announced an enhanced show floor and expanded exhibitors list for its 2016 NAB Show New York, slated for Nov. 9-10 at Manhattan’s Javits Convention Center,

This year’s New York show will add VR Village, which will highlight advances in virtual reality; Connected Media|IP, a collection of exhibits on the evolution of mobile, social and cloud services; and Innovation Lab, where companies will demonstrate innovative products and services, according to the NAB.

Also new this year is the Drone Pavilion, where attendees can learn about and operate the latest drone technology.

This year’s show will feature more than 300 exhibitors, including Adobe, Avid, BlackMagic Design, Canon, JVC, Panasonic and Sony — many expanding their presence. First-time exhibitors include Akamai, Arista Networks, CCPIT.ECC, Draco Broadcast and IBM Cloud Video, according to the NAB.

The 2016 show will also feature more than 50 educational sessions on five Inspiration Stages located throughout the show floor. Each stage will feature 30-minute sessions on topics such as New York film and television productions, news, advanced advertising, over-the-top content, virtual reality and satellite technology. In addition, the show floor will have an area dedicated to networking and interacting with session speakers and panelists.

This year’s Post|Production Conference will expand with three new workshops highlighting drones, 4K and high dynamic range production.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

InfoComm International’s InfoComm Connections, which will be held simultaneously at the Javits Center, will feature four new conferencesthis year, including The New Learning Technology Landscape; Exceptional Corporate Events; Digital Signage Summit, produced by Invidis Consulting; and Collaborate, produced by InfoComm and IMCCA.

“These are positive developments that illustrate the dynamic nature of this industry,” Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president of conventions and business operations, said in a statement. “The new branding has allowed us to leverage the power of NAB Show and the NAB Show community to offer an enriched experience for attendees as they explore the latest and most important trends in broadcast, media and entertainment in the world’s most media-centric city.”
