NBCU Domestic TV Promotes Susnow

Ilana Susnow, the former director of marketing, now adds a VP stripe to her resume. She will oversee all marketing initiatives for the division’s various sales teams including advertiser and cable sales.

Ilana Susnow today was named VP, marketing at NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Susnow, who will be relocating from Los Angeles to New York for this position and who reports to Donna Mills, SVP, marketing, communications and affiliate relations, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, will now oversee all marketing initiatives for the division’s various sales teams including advertiser and cable sales.

Susnow will continue to work closely with stations in more than 200 markets on off-network shows including the fall 2011 launch of 30 Rock, in addition to, The Office and The Real Housewives. In addition, Susnow will remain the domestic marketing lead for industry trade shows, such as PROMAX, LA Screenings and APEX, and will add NATPE to her trade show responsibilities.

Susnow will also continue to support the non-theatrical and Canadian distribution teams providing clients assets needed to help promote NBC Universal television and film properties sold to worldwide airlines and Canada.”

Since 2005, Susnow been director of marketing, managing the marketing, promotion, affiliate relations, media strategy, promotion and revenue opportunities for original syndicated runs of Deal Or No Deal, Maury, The Megan Mullally Show, The Steve Wilkos Show and The Jerry Springer Show. Susnow also launched the The Real Housewives franchise into off-net syndication last year and handled the marketing and affiliate relations for the off-net run of The Office.

Previously, Susnow was manager, marketing and affiliate relations from 2003 to 2005, and helped facilitate the launch of a new business-to-business website for more than 800 stations as a result of the 2004 NBC and Universal Television merger. In this role, Susnow managed the marketing, promotion and affiliate relations for a variety of shows including Blind Date, The Fifth Wheel and The Jerry Springer Show.

Prior to joining NBC, Susnow worked on the interactive entertainment team at Bender/Helper Impact.

Susnow graduated from the UCLA Anderson School of Management with a master’s in business administration and also holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis in English with a minor in communications.
