Nexstar Names Jeffrey West GM Of WBTW

The general sales manager of the group’s CBS-MNT affiliate in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., moves up to replace Randy Ingram who has moved to Nexstar’s Indianapolis duopoly.

Nexstar Media Group today promoted Jeffrey West to vice president and general manager of CBS and MNT affiliate WBTW Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. (DMA 102).

Since 2011, he has been the station’s general sales manager. He will assume his new responsibilities immediately and report to Bill Sally, Nexstar SVP-regional manager.

West replaces Randy Ingram who was recently promoted to VP-GM of Nexstar’s WISH (CW) and WNDY (MNT) Indianapolis.

West has more than 30 years of broadcast and cable experience with expertise in local and national sales management, new business development, inventory optimization, strategic planning and cross-platform marketing.

Previously, he was GM of Time Warner Cable Media’s Wilmington, N.C., operations. Prior to that, he held various sales positions at WVUE New Orleans before being promoted to VP-GM.

Earlier in his career, he held sales management positions at WKRG Mobile, Ala., and WBTV Charlotte, N,C. West also held account executive roles in Augusta, Ga.; Knoxville, Tenn.; and Dothan, Ala., where he began his broadcasting career.

West graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
