Nexstar Names Jon Skorburg WQRF GM
Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Jon Skorburg has been appointed vice president and general manager of its Fox affiliate, WQRF Rockford, Ill. (DMA 134) and its community website Mystateline.com. Skorburg will also have oversight of Mission Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate WTVO under a joint operating agreement.
Skorburg will report to Rick Rogala, Nexstar SVP and regional manager.
The appointment marks a return to Rockford for Skorburg, who served in management roles including sales and station manager at WREX Rockford from 1994 through 2006. A 30-year broadcast veteran, Skorburg has served as president and general manager of WNWO Toledo, Ohio, station manager of WHOI Peoria, Ill., and held leadership positions at KWTX Waco, Texas, and KFDX Wichita Falls, Texas.
Skorburg is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia.
