On Tap At ACA Summit: Streaming, Bundles

The American Cable Association's 23rd Summit on March 2 will feature a panel of experts to discuss what the shifting video landscape means for the independent cable community and consumers.

With consumers flocking to Internet-based video providers, many think the traditional cable TV bundle is in jeopardy, causing some notable stock downgrades on Wall Street. For a deep look at this issue, the American Cable Association’s 23rd Summit on March 2 will feature a panel of experts to discuss what the shifting video landscape means for the independent cable community and the consumers it serves.

The ACA Summit, taking place March 1-3 in Washington, will look at the new age of video consumption with insights from the following panelists:

  • Alexander “Sandy” Brown, president-CEO, ONE World Sports Network
  • Rich Greenfield, managing director, media and technology analyst, BTIG
  • Gene Kimmelman, president-CEO, Public Knowledge
  • Michael Morrison, director of fioptics services, Cincinnati Bell
  • Moderator Shalini Ramachandran, The Wall Street Journal

“I want to thank these fine panelists for taking the time to join us at the ACA Summit and offer their perspective on where the whole video streaming issue is going, including the appropriate role for regulators and the legitimate expectations of consumers,” said ACA President-CEO Matthew M. Polka. “With Netflix and YouTube accounting for nearly half of all downstream Internet traffic at peak times, the panel will take on an issue that is constantly making headlines across the country.”

The ACA Summit connects small and mid-size cable operators serving hometown America with the country’s leading lawmakers and regulators as well as media representatives who track communications policy in our nation’s capital. This year’s Summit coincides with important changes occurring in the regulatory arena managed by Congress and the FCC.

Previously confirmed ACA Summit speakers include Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.).
