Pete Marquardt Named GM Of WGBA-WACY

Journal Broadcast Group has named Pete Marquardt the company’s new general manager of its WGBA (NBC) and WACY (MNT) Green Bay, Wis. (DMA 71). He begins April 28 and succeeds Joe Poss, who had been the duo’s GM since 2011 and was named GM of WTMJ Milwaukee in February.

Marquardt will report to Debbie Turner, EVP of television.

Marquardt joins Journal from his previous role as VP-GM of WJFW Wausau-Rhinelander, Wis., where over the last three years, he launched a mid-day news program; was involved in a number of technology enhancements; and coordinated news, sales and promotions that helped grow audience shares.

Prior to becoming GM at WJFW, Marquardt was the station’s general sales manager, as well as in national and regional sales roles of increasing responsibility for a number of other stations across northern Wisconsin.
