PPI Releasing Returns Three Freshman Series At NATPE

PPI Releasing says its three newly launched syndicated series would all return for the 2020-21 season. The three new series join PPI’s The Listener and Just for Laughs Gags in the PPI syndication programming arsenal. All PPI syndication series are offered on a barter basis.

“Last year we saw a gaping void in syndication, especially in the supply of fresh, high utility content for weekends,” said PPI principal Ritch Colbert. “With three outstanding partners — A+E Networks, Bell Media and Inverleigh — we filled that void and more by offering three new high-quality series, while giving our broadcast affiliates unprecedented flexibility and value. We’re so gratified to see all three series enjoy such a fast start.”

Scheduled in both Monday-Friday strip and weekend time-slots, Intervention airs on stations in the Tribune, Nexstar, Scripps, Sinclair, Weigel, Tegna, Hearst, Meredith, Cox, Titan, American Spirit, Morgan Murphy, Quincy and News Press Gazette groups. Twice nominated and in 2009 awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Series, Intervention is the five-time Prism Award-winning one-hour series that brings attention to the enormous social, economic and environmental cost of drug addiction, alcohol abuse and compulsive behavior. Intervention is produced by GRB Entertainment for A&E Network.

Anchored by stations from the Fox O&Os, Nexstar, Sinclair, Tegna, Cox, Quincy and Heartland groups, The Syndie Sports Network, or SSN, features great names and games in all of sports. Three SSN weekly half-hour series — The Immortals, The Shortlist and Pure Outdoor — put viewers in the center of the action and expand sports rotations and sponsorship packages for stations. SSN is produced by Inverleigh, a premium sports content production and media distribution agency, servicing more than 400 broadcast clients globally with a library of more than 1,000 hours of high-value sports content solutions.

On stations in the Tribune, Nexstar, Sinclair, Scripps, Tegna, Hearst, Weigel, Meredith, Cox, Mission, American Spirit, Morgan Murphy, Quincy and News Press Gazette groups, Forensic Factor (also known as F2) is a weekend strip based on true crimes and the work of elite CSI teams. Shot in documentary form with richly produced reenactments, F2 put the viewer in the center of famous investigations.

The essential core of F2 is scripted drama based on real events — the same recipe that has powered the top procedural drama franchises for decades.  Forensic Factor is a product of the Bell Media Studios-run Exploration Production Inc. (EPI), a multi-award-winning producer of original, factual documentaries and series for international broadcasters.

None of those shows were picked up in the West Michigan TV market this year I don’t know which of the 3 will be picked up for fall 2020-21 Syndie season.
