Primestream Previews IP Capture

At IBC 2017 in Amsterdam, Primestream will preview a major update to its Dynamic Media Management software platform that adds powerful features for simplifying project management across departments and geographic locations. In addition, Primestream will demonstrate the ability to capture live IP streams and quickly integrate that content through a production, management and delivery workflow.

The industry is asking for the flexibility to capture media from any available source. Primestream is developing support for the capture of industry standard protocols including HLS, RTMP, RTSP, DASH, HDS, SMPTE 2022-6 and more in resolutions such as SD, HD, 4K/UHD and new formats including 360 Equirectangular media with the ability to schedule recordings, set recording durations and metadata before and during capture. Primestream also enables the realtime capture of IP streams into multiple resolutions and file formats making it easier for different parts of the workflow to get started faster.

New project-centric workflows enable users and teams to intuitively create, share and collaborate on projects. Through Primestream’s Adobe Premiere Pro extension panel, users can access raw footage and proxy media, as well as easily switch between proxy and high-resolution source material for effective remote/offsite editing.

Primestream will also introduce new software updates, including the ability to manage various third-party digital assets such as graphic images, PDFs and more. This allows for projects to be archived with all media assets and application project files so operations can seamlessly restore a complete project with all its assets at a later time.

“As live IP content is being captured, users can simultaneously annotate incoming feeds with keywords, markers, subclips and additional metadata to add value later, said David Schleifer, COO at Primestream. “This metadata can then be used during post-production to easily find the assets by searching against tagged keywords.”

Primestream Space Time Markers can also be added to 360° IP streams upon capture to highlight areas of interest in an X, Y space with the ability to zoom in on a particular area. Primestream also enables edit-while-capture workflow so Adobe Premiere Pro editors can easily get started making highlights and cutting them into packages for quickturnaround delivery.
