‘Raw Travel’ Packed, Ready To Go This Fall

Producer/syndicator AIM TV says that its new weekly half-hour travel show has been cleared in more than 50% of the nation’s TV homes and that it expects that percentage will grow to more than 60% by the time it debuts this fall.

Outlets for Raw Travel in the top 10 markets include Fox’s WNYW/WWOR New York and WFLD/ WPWR Chicago, Cox’s  KTVU San Francisco, Hearst’s WCVB Boston and NBC’s KXAS Dallas.

According to AIM TV, the show rides “the rapidly growing wave of socially and environmentally aware” travel.

Raw Travel offers broadcasters an opportunity to counterprogram the glut of derivative reality programming plaguing cable…., says Robert Rose, executive producer of the series and founder of AIM TV.

“With U.S. passport possession and travel/tourism spending at all-time highs, local stations realize the time is now for this genre….” he adds.

Raw Travel aspires to combine the poetic with the practical, not only inspiring people to travel but giving them the tools to do so and enhance their own lives. We’ll also help stations tap into a double-digit growth, travel/tourism advertising category that is largely passing them by.”

AIM TV is producing 22 episodes for the first season, each focusing on destinations in North and South America.
