Raycom Buys Augusta TV It’s Been Managing
Raycom Media is buying WFXG Augusta, Ga. (DMA 114), a Fox affiliate that it has been operating under a local marketing agreement since 2003, according to an FCC filing seeking approval of the deal.
The price is $17,837,520.
The seller is Southeastern Media Holdings, a subsidiary of Community Newspaper Holdings, which also owns WSFX Wilmington, N.C.; WXTX Columbus, Ga.; and WUPV Richmond, Va. Southeastern President Thomas Henson also owns KYOU Ottumwa, Iowa.
Raycom, the 15th largest TV station group with 36 full-power and two low-power stations in 36 markets, owns three other stations in Georgia: WTVM Columbus, WTOC Savannah and WALB Albany.
