Scott Dempsey To Lead WBTV Charlotte

Raycom Media today named Scott Dempsey the new vice president and general manager of WBTV, its CBS affiliate in Charlotte, N.C. (DMA 22). He will assume his new duties in early November.

Dempsey replaces Nick Simonette, who was recently promoted to group VP at Raycom Media. 

Dempsey has been VP-GM of Raycom’s WTOC, the CBS Affiliate in Savannah, Ga., since May of last year. Prior to his appointment as GM, Dempsey served as WTOC’s director of sales from 2011 to 2014. 

Dempsey’s broadcasting experience includes serving as director of sales for WFTS Tampa, Fla.; sales manager at WABC New York; and director of sales for ABC National Sales in Detroit. Dempsey began his broadcasting career in Charlotte as an account executive at Blair Television. He also lived there when he was sales manager for ABC National.
