Sony Pictures TV Ups Rachel Mizuno

The company’s former marketing VP is now responsible all marketing efforts in support of SPT’s first-run and off-net syndication, SVOD, cable and broadcast sales businesses.

Rachel Mizuno has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing, US distribution for Sony Pictures Television (SPT).

In this position, Mizuno is responsible all marketing efforts in support of SPT’s first-run and off-net syndication, SVOD, cable and broadcast sales businesses. This includes overseeing affiliate marketing, media strategy, consumer marketing and promotional campaigns. She will report to Sheraton Kalouria, EVP-CMO, SPT.

A 19 year veteran of the television industry, Mizuno started her career working for KSBW Monterey and KSBY San Luis Obispo, both California. She eventually moved to Los Angeles where she worked in sales for Columbia Tristar Television Distribution.

In 1998, Mizuno began working on The Donny & Marie Show in station relations and was soon promoted to director, affiliate marketing and later executive director, affiliate marketing.

Most recently, Mizuno was VP, marketing where she oversaw SPT’s affiliate marketing department and developed and managed promotion and media plans for over 1200 television stations in top markets for syndicated programming. 

Additionally, she oversaw prominent consumer campaigns for syndicated fare such as The Dr. Oz Show, Seinfeld and for the upcoming The Queen Latifah Show, which launches in September.
