Tegna Media Promotes Key Executives

Lynn Beall, Mark Cornetta expand responsibilities; Steve Carter is promoted to president and general manager of KUSA Denver

 

Three key Tegna Inc. executives are taking on new and expanded roles within Tegna Media, the company’s local broadcasting division. 

  • Lynn Beall was named EVP and chief operating officer of Tegna Media after serving as EVP.
  • Mark Cornetta moves to EVP of Tegna Media from SVP of Tegna Media and president-GM manager of KUSA Denver.
  • Steve Carter becomes president-GM of KUSA after serving in the same position at WCSH Portland, Maine.

“Lynn and Mark have tremendous records of leadership and accomplishment,” said Dave Lougee, president of Tegna Media. “They, along with current executive vice president Peter Diaz, give us a best-in-class executive team as the foundation of our growth and transformation plans.”

Prior to being named EVP Beall was president-GM of KSDK St. Louis for 16 years. Beall has also served in several station leadership roles across Tegna Media including director of marketing and programming at KPNX Phoenix and national sales manager at WUSA Washington.

Cornetta is a nearly 30-year veteran of KUSA, serving as the station’s president and general manager for the past 11 years. He has also served as KUSA’s general sales manager, local sales manager and national sales manager.

Carter returns to KUSA after five years as president-GM of WCSH. Previously, Carter worked at KUSA from 1992 through 2011, eventually becoming VP of marketing and promotion.

Wow they did something right. Now finally they can start actually start getting a game plan together before they get surpassed by another station group
