Tupelo Fox Affiliate WLOV To Be Sold

Tupelo Broadcasting is selling the Fox affiliate to Coastal Television Broadcasting Co., which also owns KTBY Anchorage, Alaska.

Coastal Television Broadcasting Co. has agreed to buy Fox affiliate WLOV Columbus-Tupelo-West Point, Miss. (DMA 133), from Tupelo Broadcasting for an undisclosed amount. The station also broadcasts MeTV and This TV on subchannels.

Coastal Television Broadcasting also owns KTBY, the Fox affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska. Coastal also provides advertising sales and other services under arrangements with KYUR Anchorage; and provides programming for KATN Fairbanks, Alaska, and KJUD Juneau, Alaska.

“Coastal has a high level of commitment to the viewers and communities it serves and plans a seamless continuation of quality news, entertainment, and community service,” said Bill Fielder, president-CEO of Coastal Television Broadcasting.

“We look forward to continuing to provide viewers in 19 counties in northeast Mississippi and northwest Alabama with quality programming under the new ownership,” said Jennifer Dennington, general manager of WLOV.

The transaction is subject to FCC approval, which is expected in early 2015.
