TV One Names D’Angela Proctor SVP Programming

D’Angela Proctor has been tapped to lead TV One’s original production team as SVP of programming and production.  Reporting to Alfred Liggins, TV One president-CEO, Proctor will provide strategic direction of all original programming and oversee all development and current production for the network.

Proctor joins TV One from Strange Fruit Media, where she was a co-owner and co-president.  In the 15-year history of the company, Proctor developed, created and/or produced music videos, live music and comedy recordings, documentaries, feature films and television series. In the television arena, Proctor was executive producer and creative consultant to BET from 2008 to 2010.

Proctor is no stranger to TV One, having executive produced the Family Reunion television series and the Daddy’s Girl Laila Ali documentary for the network. Prior to that, Proctor produced television series Exalted and One Night Only and feature films The Seat Filler and Book of Love, among others.

Previously, Proctor practiced law at Reed, Smith, Shaw & McClay in Pittsburgh. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College and a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University.
