Univision Taps Ferrari As Strategy EVP

The Spanish-language media company chooses Beau Ferrari, its EVP of operations, for the new position in which he will work with UCI’s division leaders on strategic business initiatives, investments and merger and acquisition efforts.

Univision Communications today promoted Beau Ferrari to the newly created position of EVP, corporate strategy and development, effective immediately.

He will remain based in Miami and will report to Frank Lopez-Balboa, chief financial officer of UCI. In this new expanded role, Ferrari will work with UCI’s division leaders on strategic business initiatives, investments and merger and acquisition efforts.

“We are at a pivotal point in our company’s history and Beau’s appointment to this new strategic position underscores our commitment to working with external partners and our divisional leaders to identify opportunities for investment and value creation for the company,” said Lopez-Balboa.

Since joining UCI, Ferrari has held roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as EVP of operations, where he has been responsible for managing the growth and profitability of the company’s content offerings across its entertainment, news, sports and cable platforms.

Ferrari has previously served as interim CEO and general manager of Fusion, interim co-head of Univision Sports and chief of staff/special assistant to the CEO, helping manage operations, strategic initiatives and personnel across networks, local television and radio assets, as well as interactive and mobile platforms.

Prior to joining UCI, Ferrari was co-founder and partner of Royal Palm Capital Partners, a private equity investment and management firm. His responsibilities included extensive experience as an officer and director of several public and private companies.

Ferrari began his career as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York.

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and graduated from Georgetown University, magna cum laude, with a double major in finance and international business.
