WAOW Wausau Taps Jon ErkenBrack As GM

Quincy-owned ABC affiliate WAOW Wausau, Wis. (DMA 134), today named veteran broadcaster Jon ErkenBrack its general manager. ErkenBrack replaces John Harris, who is leaving the station this month to return to family in North Carolina.

ErkenBrack joins WAOW following a nearly 30-year career in television, most recently as the director of sales at WXXA Albany, N.Y. He has also held station management and sales management positions in Norfolk, Va., and Charlotte, N.C.

“Strong news and sales efforts, along with genuine community service, have long been a hallmark at WAOW,” said Tom Allen, regional VP of Quincy’s broadcast division. “Jon ErkenBrack has the skills and experience to build upon that foundation.”

ErkenBrack will begin his new duties at WAOW on Thursday, Dec. 20.
