DMA 26: BALTIMORE

WBAL Expands Sunday Night Late News

Beginning this Sunday, Jan. 31, Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WBAL Baltimore (DMA 26)  expands its 11 p.m. Sunday edition of 11 News Tonight to one hour. The expanded newscast will also be available live and on demand online and on WBAL’s mobile app.

“Whether you’re receiving it on our traditional broadcast channel or on a digital device, we’re always looking for new opportunities to deliver WBAL-TV’s ‘Live. Local. Latebreaking.’ news to our Baltimore audience,” said Dan Joerres, the station’s president-GM.

The newscast will feature WBAL news anchor Kai Reed, meteorologist Tony Pann and sports anchor Pete Gilbert.

Last year, WBAL added an additional half-hour to its weekday morning newscast, moving the start time to 4:30 a.m. “We now offer 38 hours of original locally-produced news every week on all of our platforms,” said News Director Tim Tunison.
