Week 2 Ratings: ‘The Real’ Rises, ‘Kris’ Dips

The summer tests of the two syndie talkers show The Real up in households and the women 18-49 and 25-54 demos from the first week and year-ago time period averages, while Kris is lower.

Metered market overnight ratings released today for the second week of the summer try-out runs for Warner Bros.’ The Real and Twentieth Television’s Kris syndicated talkers, which both began July 15, show sharp week to week gains for The Real and declines for Kris.

The Real (1.2 household rating/4 share for week two) was up 20% from its first week (1.0/3) and up 50% from its year-ago time period average, while Kris (0.8/3 household rating for week two) was down 11% from its first week (0.9/3) and down 27% from its year-ago time periods.

Among women 18-49, the second week of The Real (1.0/7) was up 42% from week one (0.7/5) and up 100% from last year’s time periods, while the second week of Kris (0.5/4) was down 17% from week one (0.6/4) and also down 17% from its year-ago time period average.

In the women 25-54 demo, the second week of The Real (1.1/7) was up 38% from its first week (0.8/6) and up 120% compared to year-ago time periods, while Kris (0.6/4) was down 25% from week one (0.8/5) and down 14% from its year-ago time periods.

A bright spot for Kris was last Thursday in Los Angeles when the show recorded a 1.3 women 18-49 rating, a series high and a 333% increase from its 0.3 lead-in. The same day it also recorded a 1.1 among women 25-54, which matched its series high and was a 267% increase from its 0.3 lead-in.
