WFLD Chicago Lands Patti Blagojevich Interview

CHICAGO (AP) — The wife of imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich says she isn’t happy with delays in the appeal of her husband’s convictions.

Former Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich tells Fox O&O WFLD that the process is “incredibly frustrating” and that the Blagojevich children miss their father.

In March, Blagojevich began serving a 14-year-old sentence on 18 corruption convictions, which included charges he sought to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s old U.S. Senate seat for campaign cash or a job.

WFLD reports that transcripts from his two trials haven’t yet been completed for the appellate court. Last month, the court reporter filed a request for an extension to get those finished.

Patti Blagojevich says her husband’s appeal can’t really begin until their appellate lawyer can review the transcripts.
