Whiting Named SVP, NBCU Cable-New Media Dist.

Todd Whiting has been promoted to SVP, NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution. Whiting will continue to work closely with the unit’s president, Frances Manfredi, in digital content licensing for NBCUniversal’s network and cable TV series and Universal Film to subscription on demand (SOD) clients, like Netflix and Amazon, as well as other digital platforms. In his expanded role, he will also continue to license both television and film content to fully distributed and emerging cable networks.

Since September 2008, Whiting has been VP, NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution. Prior to that, he was director, cable and ancillary sales for the NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution division from 2006 to 2008. Before joining the distribution team, Whiting was one of the first executives in NBCU’s Digital Media division where he held a variety of positions in business development, digital distribution, operations and production.

Whiting joined NBCU in 2004 as the first hire in the Management Associates program designed to train high potential future business leaders. Prior to NBCU, Whiting earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

He began his career in communications and sales after graduating magna cum laude from Pepperdine University in California. Whiting previously held a variety of positions at Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations, Ketchum Communications and UBS PaineWebber.
