WJCL Savannah Adds Anchor Shannon Royster

Shannon Royster returns to Savannah, Ga. (DMA 91) to join Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate WJCL as an evening newscast anchor. She lived and worked in Savannah/Hilton Head for several years as a reporter and anchor at WTOC.

Royster has a regional Emmy, five AP awards and several community service honors to her credit.

Royster returns to Savannah after most recently anchoring the weekend evening newscasts and reporting for WTVF Nashville. She also worked in Charlotte, N.C.; Shreveport, La.; and Erie, Pa.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from The Ohio State University and a Master of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from Kent State University.
