WMAQ Adds Chicago Bear To Sports Team

NBC O&O WMAQ Chicago has hired Chicago Bear wide receiver Brandon Marshall to be a “regular contributor” to Sports Sunday, a locally produced show that follows NBC Sunday Night Football and the late newscast every Sunday night. Marshall is expected to make his first appearance this Sunday.

“We think Brandon will have a dynamic impact on the field and will bring interesting insight to our viewers. He and his wife Michi are looking to connect with the Chicago community as well,” said WMAQ GM Larry Wert.

“The relationship with NBC is a unique opportunity to explore his interest in broadcast journalism, expand the impact of Project Borderline and get involved with NBC’s community outreach initiatives,” said Andrew Stroth, an attorney representing Marshall.

Project Borderline is a nonprofit organization, founded by Marshall, devoted to raising awareness for borderline personality disorder.

A three-time Pro Bowler (2008, 2009 and 2011), Marshall joined the Chicago Bears this year after six seasons with the Denver Broncos (2006-2009) and the Miami Dolphins (2010-11).
