WPIX Names Amy Waldman News Director

Tribune promotes the acting ND at its New York CW affiliate. She's been at the station since 2007.

Tribune Broadcasting’s CW affiliate WPIX New York (DMA 1) today promoted Amy Waldman to news director.  Waldman, who was most recently acting news director, will report to Rich Graziano, WPIX president-GM. She succeeds Mark Effron who left last year.

Waldman joined WPIX in 2007 as a senior producer, quickly moving up the ranks to a.m. news executive producer. In 2010 she was named director of special projects and in 2013, she was elevated again to senior executive producer.

Prior to her tenure at Tribune, she was previously a supervising producer for Nancy Grace: Closing Arguments at Court TV.  Before that Waldman was the producer of Big Idea with Donny Deutsch at CNBC. Waldman has also produced for Fox News Channel’s The Fox Report, The Big Story and Fox News Live.

Waldman has also been a producer at WGRZ Buffalo, N.Y., and WICU Erie, Pa.

She holds a BS in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.
