WTLV-WJXX Names Lancaster Station Mgr.

Gannett brings in Bill Lancaster from WFMY Greensboro, N.C., to head sales at its Jacksonville, Fla., NBC-ABC duopoly.

Gannett today named Bill Lancaster VP-station manager and director of sales of its duopoly of WTLV (NBC)-WJXX(ABC) in Jacksonville, Fla. (DMA 48). He succeeds Mark Overstreet who left last month.

Lancaster had previously been vice president of sales for WFMY in Greensboro, N.C.

Lancaster has been with Gannett for more than 20 years, starting as account executive at WFMY. He then moved to WUSA Washington, where he continued as account executive for three years before moving back to Greensboro and assuming the role of national sales manager at WFMY. Lancaster also served as local sales manager and general sales manager at WFMY before being named vice president of sales in 2011.

Prior to joining Gannett, Lancaster was an account executive for two Mann Media radio stations in High Point, N.C. He began his broadcast career as associate producer for Billy Packer’s College Basketball Show.
