IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves will also join WXYZ to test his driving skills on Detroit'[s Woodward Avenue.

“The passion for cars extends around the globe and we’re excited to be able to bring the energy of this unique event to audiences across the country,” said Ed Fernandez, E.W. Scripps divisional VP and GM of WXYZ.

“Thanks to the Woodward Dream Cruise committee, the Cruise communities on Woodward Avenue and our partners at Chevrolet, we can now share Detroit’s great classic car love affair with a whole new group of automotive enthusiasts,” said Mike Murri, WXYZ station manager.

WXYZ anchors Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford will host the show from a street-side stage in Birmingham. 7 Action News anchors JoAnne Purtan, Jeff Vaughn, Alicia Smith, Vic Faust, Glenda Lewis and Malcolm Maddox will provide coverage from along historic Woodward Avenue.
