Rossyris Silva Named News VP At KSTS

She is joining the Bay Area Telemundo outlet from the company’s KVEA Los Angeles where she has been assistant news director.

Telemundo-owned KSTS San Francisco (DMA 6) on Tuesday appointed Rossyris Silva vice president of news. In this role, she will be responsible for the overall performance of the station’s local newscasts and news department, as well as other local productions across multiple media platforms. Silva’s first day will be May 8.

Silva joins KSTS after working for Telemundo’s KVEA Los Angeles as an assistant news director and executive director since 2013. While at KVEA, Silva was part of the news team that helped to successfully launch two new afternoon weekday newscasts.

Before joining Telemundo, Silva worked at Univision Network for 10 years and held various roles with increasing responsibility.

Silva earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Florida International University.
