KEYC Mankato Expands Its Morning Newscast

United Communications-owned CBS-Fox affiliate KEYC Mankato, Minn. (DMA 199), is adding an additional half hour of local news and weather each weekday morning.

Following the successful first year of KEYC News 12 This Morning from 6 to 7 a.m., KEYC News 12 This Morning will now air live weekdays from 5:30 to 7 a.m. and will continue to be anchored by Lisa Cownie, Kelsey Barchenger and meteorologist Tom Clements.

News Director Mitch Keegan said: “Mornings are an important time of the day for people to learn about the day ahead of them as they get ready. Having an extra half hour of local news and weather will be even more beneficial.”

With the addition of the half hour, KEYC will present more than 24 hours of local news, weather and sports each week.

KEYC News 12 This Morning was launched on Jan. 15, 2018, and is followed by CBS This Morning 7 to 9 a.m.
