As president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations since 2011, Valari Staab has designed and driven a reinvestment strategy that has seen the group surge to new vitality and relevance. Named TVNewsCheck’s Station Group of the Year for 2020, NBCU and Staab will accept the award and explain the cornerstones of that strategy in an interview with Editor Michael Depp at TV2025: Monetizing the Future, presented virtually as part of the NAB Show New York.

The award presentation and interview will take place Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

“NBCU’s stations have been bold and bullish in numerous areas from developing some of the country’s first IP-based facilities to their bilingual, conjoined newsrooms with their Telemundo affiliates and bold storytelling experiments with NBCLX,” Depp says. “Valari is both a pioneering leader and a great interview subject, and no one tells NBCU’s phoenix-like story better than she.”

Other TV2025 panels will include Leadership in a Time of Accelerated Change; Optimizing Audiences: Turn a Short-Term Bump Into a Long-Term Trend; Is NextGen TV Ready for Primetime?; IP & the Cloud: A Roadmap for Future Revenue Opportunities; Remote Production and the Future of TV Station Operations; and Optimizing Spot TV in a Challenging Economy. Radha Subramanyam, chief research and analytics officer, CBS Corp. and president, CBS Vision, will be the keynote interview.

Attendees will participate in live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can pose questions to speakers, participate in live audience polling and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic Roundtables on key issues. They can also participate in conversations on the TV2025 Chat Channel on NAB Show New York’s virtual conference platform, where attendees can also attend sessions presented by NAB and visit a virtual exhibition.
