Noe Gonzalez Named KTAZ-KHRR News VP

The veteran journalist returns from KTMW Salt Lake City to lead news at Telemundo’s Phoenix and Tucson stations.

Telemundo’s KTAZ Phoenix and KHRR Tucson (branded as Telemundo Arizona) appointed Noe Gonzalez vice president of news. He will be in charge of the overall operations and performance of the stations’ newsroom, including the news productions across multiple media platforms. His first day will be Jan. 31.

Gonzalez rejoins Telemundo Arizona after leading the news team at Telemundo’s KTMW Salt Lake City for two-plus years. He led the team to multiple Emmy Awards from the Rocky Mountain Southwest chapter, including the prestigious nomination of News Excellence.

“We are excited to welcome Noe back to Arizona to lead our very talented News Team,” said Andrew Deschapelles, president-GM of Telemundo Arizona. “We are looking forward to the stations continued growth with his support and leadership.”

Gonzalez has more than 17 years of experience in newsroom management and broadcasting. He rejoins Telemundo Arizona where he started his career in news as photojournalist and held several leadership positions up to assistant news director.

Gonzalez, a native of Sinaloa, Mexico, is a member of the Arizona Latino Media Association and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
