KCPQ Seattle Names News Executives

News Director Jon Brady is promoted to director of content and news programming and is succeeded by current Assistant News Director Erica Hill.

Tribune’s Fox affiliate KCPQ Seattle (DMA 12) has promoted Assistant News Director Erica Hill to news director and named current News Director Jon Brady to the newly created position of director of content and news programming.

In this new position, Brady will be responsible for the overall supervision of the daily editorial content of the news department and oversee long-form news and sports programming. Brady will work in coordination with the news director — a position now held by Erica Hill. Hill will be responsible for the overall supervision and direction of the news department and for executing long term initiatives including specific digital goals. Hill will also continue as News Director for KCPQ’s sister station in Portland, Ore., CW affiliate KRCW.

Both Brady and Hill will begin their duties immediately.

Brady’s news background includes serving as bureau chief, Western region, for the Fox News Channel prior to coming to KCPQ in August of 2010. Brady began his news career in Washington, D.C., in September of 1991 where he was news manager for the Fox News Service. Brady graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in radio and television.

Hill has been a broadcast journalist for 15 years in major markets including Chicago and Seattle and has been at KCPQ for more than six years, most recently serving as assistant news director. Hill has worked in a variety of roles in television, radio and print. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Northwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
