Lindsay Radford New KMGH News Director

E.W. Scripps Co.-owned ABC affiliate KMGH Denver (DMA 17) has named Lindsay Radford news director, effective April 30. She succeeds Jeff Harris who moved to Scripps-sister station WEWS Cleveland as news director last fall.

She returns to Denver from KSTP and KSTC in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. She joined those stations in 2003 as an executive producer and worked her way up to news director beginning in 2008. She redesigned newscasts with a focus on investigative and enterprise reporting, all showcased around good storytelling. Radford expanded news coverage to 55 hours of news per week. Her direction resulted in award-winning stories, and increased market share and revenue.

“Lindsay is a strong newsroom leader and an accomplished journalist,” said Brad Remington, VP-GM of KMGH. “She has the skills and drive to take our newsroom forward in what is a very competitive environment. It’s a real bonus that she has worked in Colorado and has significant family ties here.”

She has two previous stints in Colorado working as a producer at KCNC Denver and KKTV Colorado Springs. While leading the newsroom in the Twin Cities, Radford enjoyed critical acclaim. At KSTP, the station won the prestigious Peabody Award for its yearlong investigation into military procedures that put service members at risk in Iraq. The station earned a National Emmy for its coverage of a deadly bridge collapse in Minneapolis.

Radford holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in journalism from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
