WFLD Debuting New Cubs Playoff Show Friday

Fox-owned WFLD Chicago (DMA 3) will inaugurate Blue October: Cubs Playoff Pregame Show on Friday, Oct. 7.

The half-hour program airs at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by WFLD Sports Anchor Lou Canellis and former Chicago Cubs centerfielder Bob Dernier. It will broadcast live from Wrigley Field during the National League Division Series Cubs home games.

In addition, Blue October will send reporters to away games; feature interviews with current and former players and offer discussion of game-day strategy.

Various station reporters will also be live in and around Wrigley Field to interview fans and showcase game day festivities and Blue October will also highlight Cubs fanatics with videos and galleries of diehard fans.

And members of the station’s sports team will be on Facebook live throughout the games.  

In addition, WFLD’s Good Day Chicago will follow the playoffs with insight from anchor Corey McPherrin and Cubs radio analyst Ron Coomer.
