Hearst Ups Kevin Stuart To Research VP

The research veteran is tapped to help guide the group’s stations “into the next generation of audience data.”

 

Kevin Stuart, who since 2012 has been Hearst Television’s corporate research director, has been promoted, effective immediately, to the new position of vice president, research.

“Kevin has emerged as an industry leader in the keystone of our business,” said Jordan Wertlieb, president of Hearst Television. “His insight from hands on experience at the local station level prepared him to provide an important voice to the industry’s respected national research organizations.  He is the perfect leader to help guide our stations and company into the next generation of audience data.”

As corporate research director, Stuart has overseen audience analysis and research across Hearst Television’s 30-station group. Prior to his position in New York, he served in senior research positions at Hearst’s four Florida TV stations — WESH and WKCF in Orlando; WPBF West Palm Beach; and WMOR Tampa.

Prior to joining Hearst, he was director of research as well as a weathercaster at WKBW Buffalo, N.Y. Before that, he was an account executive at WBRE Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.

He began his television career at KATC Lafayette in his home state of Louisiana.  Before that, he worked in radio, as an on-air host and music director at KXKW-FM Lafayette and as a news reporter for KANE-AM, in his hometown of New Iberia, La., where he began his broadcasting career in 1983.Stuart also worked as a senior research consultant for the Franco Research Group.

Stuart serves as chair of the National Association of Broadcasters’ Committee on Local Television Audience Measurement (COLTAM); he sits on the board of directors of the Media Rating Council (MRC) as well as the MRC’s various auditing committees; and he is a member of the Nielsen Policy Guidelines Committee.
