CBS promotes him from sales manager at the CBS Television Stations’ Los Angeles national spot sales office.
Veteran local media sales executive Mike Stephens has been named vice president/director of sales for KCBS and KCAL, the CBS-owned duopoly in Los Angeles (DMA 2).
Stephens, who has been with the CBS Television Stations group since January 2008, has most recently been sales manager at the group’s Los Angeles national spot sales office since August 2012. Prior to that, he spent two years as an account executive at KCBS-KCAL, and two years as an account executive in the Los Angeles spot sales office.
“Mike has been a standout performer and leader throughout his 10-plus years with our company,” said Steve Mauldin, president-GM of the stations. “He has established great relationships with his colleagues and our clients and we look forward to having him lead our sales team to new heights with our broadcast and digital properties.”
Prior to joining CBS Television Stations in 2008, Stephens spent five years as an account executive with Blair Television in Los Angeles.
Stephens earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.
