WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Dr. Phil’ Tops Talk For 100th Straight Week

Despite being in repeats on all five days, in the week ended Aug. 5, Phil still widened its lead over the genre, climbing 4% to a three-week high 2.7 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating.

It appears that Oprah has passed the torch to her most successful spinoff, Dr. Phil, which continued to paralyze the talk show competition in the session ending Aug. 5, topping the category for a milestone 100 weeks in a row.

Despite being in repeats on all five days, Phil still widened its lead over the genre, climbing 4% to a three-week high 2.7 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating.

Live with Kelly and Ryan was the only other talker at the 2 rating level, taking sole possession of second place for the seventh straight week despite a 5% dip to a 2.0.

Ellen DeGeneres gained 7% to a third-place 1.6.

Among the few other winners, Dateline, the off-net true crime strip, hit a six-week high 1.3 with an 8% spike.

The No. 1 syndicated show overall was Judge Judy, which grew 2% to a seven-week high 6.4 even though it was entirely in reruns.

Judy’s creation, Hot Bench, was also on the move, climbing 5% to a 2.1 and finishing as first-run’s third-highest show in daytime.
