Media General promotes former GM of WBTW Florence, S.C.
Media General’s Broadcast Division has named Michael J. Pumo vice president and general manager of WFLA, the company’s NBC affiliate in Tampa, Fla., effective May 1.
Since 2002, Pumo has been general manager of CBS affiliate WBTW Florence/Myrtle Beach, S.C. Prior to joining Media General, Pumo was vice president and general manager of KLBK and KAMC, a duopoly in Lubbock, Texas. Before that, he was vice president and general manager of WVTV and WCGV in Milwaukee, Wis. Pumo also has extensive experience as a sales director, and he is a former news anchor and director. He holds a degree in speech communication from Eastern Illinois University.
