Media General’s NBC affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, plans to share content and work on advertising and sponsorships with the Bucknuts Media Group, a publishers of local sports Web sites and magazines.
They love their sports in Columbus, Ohio.
With that in mind, WCMH, the market’s NBC affiliate, is partnering with Bucknuts Media Group, a local sports Web and magazine publisher.
Under their arrangement, WCMH and the Bucknuts online and print outlets will share content and work together on advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
The Bucknuts Media Group comprises Bucknuts.com, a Web site about Ohio State football and basketball; JJHuddle.com, a site dedicated to Ohio high school sports; Bucknuts the Magazine, Ohio High Magazine and The Bucknuts Radio Hour. It also holds an interest in ScoutingOhio.com, a high school recruiting site.
Combined, Bucknuts.com and JJHuddle.com reach up to 500,000 unique visitors each month. JJHuddle.com maintains interactive message boards and forums throughout the year.

Bucknuts Media Network started in 1999 with its namesake fan site devoted to Ohio State University sports. In May 2007, Bucknuts became the first independent sports site to affiliate with ESPN.
JJHuddle.com joined the Bucknuts Media Network in 2005. It provides coverage of Ohio high school sports and recruiting.
