In a statement, the chairman and CEO of Tribune says his prognosis following surgery for prostate cancer earlier today is “excellent” and that he expects to be back on the job by the end of August.
Tribune Co. said this afternoon that Chairman and CEO Dennis FitzSimons is recovering from successful prostate cancer surgery performed earlier today. He expects to return to work full time before the end of August.
“My prognosis is excellent, and I look forward to a quick and full recovery,” said FitzSimons in a prepared statement. “Tribune has a strong, experienced management team that will continue to execute on our performance improvement plan during my absence. I will be engaged with them in that process.”
