A debate moderator’s question that appeared to dismiss his denial of a story that he had told rival Elizabeth Warren that a woman couldn’t win the presidential election was making news following this week’s Democratic debate.
It was a respectable audience, beating almost every other network in its time slot, but still down from past highs. Viewership fell short of a CNN debate in October, which attracted 8.3 million viewers, and an ABC debate in September, when 14 million tuned in.
A preliminary security plan would greatly limit the movement of credentialed media members. Journalists would be restricted to a designated area and could only speak to senators who approached them. Under normal conditions, credentialed journalists can informally approach lawmakers in the hallways or on the way to the elevator or the Senate subway.
WGN-TV Names Dominick Stasi News Director
The Nexstar independent in Chicago promotes its executive producer to take over the news department following Jennifer Lyons’ move to lead WGN America’s new national primetime News Nation.
The live, daily three-hour primetime News Nation will draw on the experience and in-market expertise of Nexstar’s 5,400 local journalists and 110 newsrooms across the country. Leading the effort is Jennifer Lyons as VP news of WGN America.
