Anchor Krista Miller Returning To WPTA

Krista Miller will make her return to the Fort Wayne, Ind. (DMA 110), airwaves in March as the 6 and 11 p.m. co-anchor for Quincy Media’s WPTA.

A Decatur, Ind., native and Bellmont High School graduate, Miller studied electronic journalism and received her bachelor’s degree from Butler University. She began her broadcasting career with WOWO radio in Fort Wayne, anchoring the morning news.

In 2014, Miller moved to what is now “Fort Wayne’s NBC” for her first job in television. After several years as an anchor and reporter for that station, Miller accepted an offer to anchor weekday afternoon newscasts for KAKE  Wichita, Kan.

Two years later, she’s headed back to her roots.

“I’m thrilled to return home!” Miller said. “To work at the station I grew up watching is a blessing. 21Country is rich with stories, and I hope viewers will choose us as their home for news.”

In her new role, Miller will join veteran WPTA evening anchor Brien McElhatten on the news desk. Miller and McElhatten wed in 2019 and will become one of a handful of married anchor teams in the country.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

The station’s hour-long 5 p.m. newscast features McElhatten alongside anchor and chief “Digging Deeper” reporter Kaitlyn Kendall.
