When the UK’s Sky TV decided to relaunch At the Races as Sky Sports Racing, producers had barely six months to get the new pay TV channel up and running. They met their deadline by spinning up a cloud version of Ross Video’s newsroom computer system, Inception.

“We knew we had to put an NRCS system in,” said Jack Horry, Platform Manager, Sky. “Ross provided a product in Inception that made it really simple to spin it up in the cloud.

“If we’d done a traditional thing here we’d have to talk about firewalls and things to get stuff out. Being cloud-based it makes it much more available, and then we have the bonus – the planning tool. The planning tool is a very, very powerful beast. It really helps the productions to organize their entire lives…The training of that was really simple, really intuitive to use.”
